SHOOTING START FOR “PULLED PORK” WITH PIZZERA AND JAUS

29.9.2022

Category: Kickoff

After the ratings hit “Klammer – Chasing the Line” and the international sci-fi thriller “Rubikon”, Samsara Filmproduktion teamed up with Pizzera & Jaus for a new Crime-Comedy.

Vienna, 29.09.2022 - The first take of the Austrian feature film 'PULLED PORK' was shot on 13th September. Successful director Andreas Schmied ('Love Machine 1&2', 'Klammer - Chasing the Line') will stage this thrilling crime comedy with a top-class ensemble until 20th October. Paul Pizzera and Otto Jaus appear together for the first time in front of the camera. After numerous stage appearances, the audience favourites are now conquering the cinema. The cast also includes Valerie Huber, Gregor Seberg and Elisabeth Kanettis.

With Paul Pizzera and Otto Jaus, Samsara Filmproduktion wants to get the local audience into the cinema seats: Fascinating actors, an exciting story by Andreas and Elisabeth Schmied, film music by Paul Pizzera and hand-picked locations in Styria and Vienna guarantee thrills, laughs and simply the best entertainment.

Producers Loredana Rehekampff & Andreas Schmied:'We are especially happy that we were able to get Paul Pizzera and Otto Jaus to play the roles of Flo and Eddi - despite their busy schedules and numerous appearances. They fit together like peas in a pod. Or, to stay in the genre, like a glove. On set, we were pleased to see that they skilfully pass the humorous balls in their scenes to each other, but always keep the drama and the level high'.

'Pulled Pork' shows how ex-policeman Flo Kienzl (Paul Pizzera) and the recently released convict Eddi Kovac (Otto Jaus) race against an almost overwhelming opponent: Benny Jagschitz (Gregor Seberg), a pig farmer, party animal and mayoral candidate. He has the best chance of winning. But his campaign gets out of hand when Flo and Eddi's sister disappear. The duo, who are as cunning as they are worn down, suspect that Jagschitz has something to do with it. But to stop the animal-breeding neo-politician, they have to deal with sleazy Russians, an ex-beauty queen and a Greek mother-in-law. The fact that juicy pork burgers are being destroyed by the dozen is the least of their problems. And it wouldn't be Austria if there wasn't also a chat affair...

Loredana Rehekampff: 'Paul Pizzera and Otto Jaus are not only brilliant musicians and comedians on stage - we are sure that they will also radiate their incredible charm on the big screen - in a story that could hardly be more Austrian!'

SUMMARY:

In the not-so-sleepy town of Graz where everyone’s business is everyone else’s scandal, Private Eye Flo Kienzl and his brother-from-another-mother, Eddi Kovac - a man whose criminal record is as colorful as his personality - tackle their biggest case yet. They’re up against Benny Jagschitz, a pig farmer dreaming of mayoral glory, whose dirty deeds go waybeyond not cleaning his pigsties. With more skeletons in his closet than a Halloween store, Jagschitz is the kingpin of corruption in a town that’s seen it all. As Flo and Eddi stumble through a maze of hilarious mishaps and close calls, they’re determined to bring down the soon-to-be mayor before he turns their beloved town into a Russian Mafia playground. It’s a riotous ride of mishaps, wit, and the kind of brotherly love that puts the fun in dysfunctional, proving that sometimes, to catch the bad guys, you’ve gotta break a few eggs - or, in this case, pig pens.
